WW dyno result
« on: August 12, 2011, 04:30:22 PM »
On monday I made the spur of the moment decision to go to the shop and get a full tune. Previously I made 330whp and was looking to make 360-380 this time out. I have made quite a few changes since the last time out so I have mixed feelings about this. I ended up making an average of 340whp with a peak of 350. The car would not run consistent, and it was suggested that something in my parts combo is not right.

Upgrades from last time are:
-Bastard 16g for 68hta
-kinetic 6x3.5x18 fmic for ETS 7x3x24 fmic
-fic 650's for delphi 1000's
-Jackal for Werewolf
-pre-turbo meth

I should also point out that last dyno was an average of 310. we gained ~10whp from retarding both cam gears -4. and another 10 with a 3rd gear pull. This time no adjustments were made to the cam gears and no 3rd gear pull. So in all it was about a 30-40whp increase, kind of.

Graph.

Any feedback is appreciated.

6500 looks like a major power dip, timing fall off ?

We aren't sure why it does that, it has for the last couple of times that I have been. I think it has to do with the restallled converter, but who knows.

So upon further review, I have found that my dead times were off. A lot. I had started with the PTE deadtimes provided in Werewolf. Then adjusted to get the FTo2 close to 100.

In the end I had only +190u from stock at 14.1v. I am now running the dead times for the FIC 950's (+330). I had to adjust the ve at idle, and it is more rich up top on a pull.

We need a write up on how to find dead times for injectors that are not covered in the drop down menu.

That my friend is the million dollar question......... :)  The only way I know to find out the actual correct dead times is by draining the battery while running at each point.  And in that, is something that is very difficult to do, without maybe an alternator going out, which wont exactly drain by the amount you want for as long as you want to figure it out.  I do know that previously with Jackal, we just used the numbers that Link used, but now with WW Curtis came up with a whole new formula for figuring out dead times with a more linear method......  If anyone knows a good way to figure this out, Id love to know.

Also I'd like to see the map tracing tied into the logger. So we can see where the ve, timing, and fuel are when reviewing the log.

I'd also like the logs accessible when the logging cable is not plugged in.

and not just as a .csv table either, but a graphical linear playbackable log.  Like TMO does.  Its really simple.  And if you place the cursor on a point on one of the data lines, it should instantly show you the value.

I believe some of those things were something that was going to be looked into a while back before we took a little break from things......  Im almost to the point where I can start being active again and lending lots of time to the project like I used to previously.....

I've seen cars 100rwhp differences between 2 dynos on the same with the same car/tune.   What kind of dyno was it? If it’s a mustang or similar type load bearing dyno ,low numbers aren’t’ something to be discouraged about IMO. 30-40whp gain is damn good. Ever run ¼ mile with it?

Kinda don’t have enough info to try and help squeeze out more power. Boost? Cams? Timing curve? AFR’s, ect...

5 speed, 6/4 Bolt, 3K on rebuilt motor deck surfaced. Weisco 8.5:1 pistons, eagle rods. OEM crank, factory port 1g head, valve job, head surfaced , new valve stem seals,  3G lifters, BC 272 cams straight up, HX40 turbo, spearco FMIC. TT supra pump, 1000cc inj, E85, SD Jakal.

this is old now and won't matter. I am in a rebuild after finding cylinder #3 at 70psi dry and cold. after adding a cap of oil it went to 90, but still bad. I am going 2.3 with a 2g head and evo intake this time around. expect results to be posted in a month or so.
