Not the place for this discussion guys, I'm cleaning it out right now.

Hey, my name is Gerry and i have been into dsms for about 3 years. i have had a 2g gst, a 92 gsx, and curently have a 91 tsi awd. My brother Sam (who is also a member here) got me into dsms. He has the 94 laser awd. I live in Eau Claire WI and have had the talon for about 6 months now. The 63 and tranny just bit the dust after 236000 miles. pretty good i think for a moderately modded turbo engine that took a lickin and kept on tickin;) I have just recently picked up a dohc 4g64 from a 94 galant. it is the actual dohc, not a swap. It was a hard one to find. My plans are to put the 64 in with a stock tranny and run a big 16g with the flapper welded, a tubular manifold with a 38mm external waste gate, stock o2 with 3" exhaust, stock ic with 2.5 uic, 450 injectors (soon to be bigger for e85), stock fuel system (walboro 255 and regulator coming soon), dsmap, and prob like 8psi for now. I am keeping the head and block stock for now also. I have been reading what i can about this swap with turbo, but there isnt much on the actual dohc. I would love to here what you guys think about this swap and any pointers if you have them. I am new to tuning so im gonna be doin a lot of reading here on the forums.
(in the process of doing a 4g64 swap)
dohc 4g64(from 94 galant) stock dohc head, not swap! 10/1 compression (stock head and block)
2.5 uic
stock ic
450cc injectors
stock fuel system (soon to be walboro 255 with regulator)
going to run dsmap...obviously!
big 16g turbo (welded flapper)
tubular manifold with 38mm external wg
3" exaust with evoIII o2 housing

Welcome Dave. Please tell us more about your car, feel free to post a build thread in the other section of the forum. Also, do not forget to fill out your signature.

Just noticed this. Sorry for the delay.

I picked up this car almost a year ago. Her name is Rita and she is a 91 awd 5 speed Talon, with the black and silver two tone. The car is nearly stock(see sig) but fun to drive non the less, especially in the turns with the 3 bolt lsd rear end. About a month after purchasing the car, the clutch took a dump, so I replaced it with a little overkill. She has the oxidation going on the hood, roof and fenders, but this is in the "repairs" list. (the repairs list is followed by the "fuel and tuning" list, then "turbo setup" list.) :wninja One of the first things I am looking to do, while fixing all the odds and ends, would be wheels and tires since she's on a set of the swirlys that are painted black. Along with this will be the Ground Control "coil over" setup. Ride quality will be garbage, but its worth it to me, especially since soon enough the car will be a toy.

Time to go out and drop the new radiator in and alternator belt. Its 30* out, lol, "you know your a dsmer when....."

Hello, my Name Is Brett; I'm Married And Have Two Kids And Two Black Labs, I’m 38, a Capricorn( lol Sorry Couldn’t Resist,) and Really Into NHRA Drag Racing and Pretty New to the DSM Thing. I’m A Railroad Mechanic and I Work With DSMJOE. He’s The Guy That Got Me into All This. Basically I am Driving A Stock Dsm But Have A Tone Of Aftermarket Parts And Almost Complete 4G63 On A Stand In The Garage That I Should Be Swapping Out In May With Luck And Money!

I Also Have A 91 Eagle Talon AWD Tsi 1GA In the Garage That The Stock Engine Will Be Going Into After Swap

Hi my name is Harry. I am from Asheville NC and own/operate a performance shop building japanese tuner cars and specialize in toyotas and dsms. I am testing the waters for possible vendor status on this site. I do like what I see so far. I own a 500hp mr2 turbo that i hand built as a dd, a bunch of 300hp mr2 turbos, many dsms ( A FEW WERE FAST) quite a few nissans ( fast as well), a few subbys, a few vws, and yes a few domestics. My bro (robb) has built quite a few dsms and toyotas with me throughout our past.He is who turned me onto you guys so hopefully I will have time to keep up with posting and such since I run and do all the motor building at our shop. We also build a lot of one off cars and do a lot of swaps. So if anyone is in the area and wanna stop in and check us out feel free to do so, or you can keep up with us on our sites www.mr2guru.com and phoenixmotorsportsonline.com and see all the crazy stuff we build and do.

Hey guys. I guess I'll be the next new person.
My name is Travis. I'm from Wausau, Wi. Liked DSMs (second gen at least) from the from a buddy owning one. Got into DSM's after a different buddy got 1g and I said I would never own one of those ugly turds. Then I found a nice blue one that had thrown a belt from an ex gf's co-worker that "knows about cars". Said it was a "2.2 non turbo. balls to the walls. does 140mph plus. I've done it." yeah real cool right? Any way ... got it running but found out that Mr. cool towed it behind a truck and killed the trans. So I learned more about DSM's got a bunch of stock turbo parts, converted it to "stock" turbo and almost have it up and running! I've read a lot about the SD set up and have a bunch of noob questions but I'm definitely going to run SD!

"Hey guys, my name is Paul I'm 35 years old and I am from Denver Colorado. I
have been into dsm for at least 15 years now. The first car I bought and still own is A 1993 fwd non turbo eclipse. The car is way better than new. I think that I have upgraded evertyhing I possibly can on this car and also rebuilt everything I possibly can. This car has been a huge learning tool for me on the ins and outs of the 1G cars. After getting tired of being limited to how much power the car doesn't make here at a mile high (without nitros) I started looking at AWD 1G turbos. I saved some cash for the car and mods and finally bought me A 1992 Eagle Talon TSI that was in great shape A few years ago. The Eclipse needless to say is now my step child.

The reason I am here is because I have been very very very unhappy with tuning my TSI by MAF. IT SUCKS!!! And...trying to get any help is impossible. I have a MAF translator GEN 2 and absolutly hate it. It is very inconsistant and just a pain in the ass. I have been digging around the site and I feel like this is the place to be. Looks like great info and help is provided by real people that actualy give A damn. looking forward to getting rid of the MAF and on with the SD set up!!!
