Very cool!

now, add 1 more bend, put it down in the fender well, use a 4" Vstack and the associated cheaper filter and you get all your goodness plus much colder air!

Wow, glad i found this. I was just about to drop $100+ on a dejon pipe.

Got a question though. Dont you need a 3" to 2.25" coupler? The 2" fit fine over a 2" inlet? I know most go with the 2.25.

Also why not just get a universal 3" cone filter, like :
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-93-HONDA-ACCORD-UNIVERSAL-BLUE-3-RACE-FILTER-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem415b9d317dQQitemZ280709902717QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

And clamp it directly over the pipe. Then you can ditch the $50 filter adapter all together.

Just a couple thoughts lol. But that is a bad ass idea for sure.

If I remember correctly, Lowell made the most power, just on a straight v-stack no bends, CIA lost a ton of power even over straight filter.

I'd have to dig it out of the archives.

I know this thread has a lot of good info on intake pipes and pushing MHI turbos in general.

He picked up 0.5lbs/min going from a 4" (name brand) pipe to an ebay style 2g pipe.

From the research I've done a straight shot with vs is best. Of course that wasn't an option with the positioning of the factory Turbo.  With a Small budget street car and having a need for a filter i believe this to be the next best thing. The 3" filter would be fine, but would not incorporate the VS.

Nice find! That wasn't on ebay when I built mine. Would be a bit of a challenge to get that 12" filter to fit though.  ???

Yea i got the 10.5" long filter. Its blue but when i get a fmic i'll be making an air box anyway. I kind of thought the 12" might not fit too.

For you guys that are using a short route style intercooler piping(meaning your piping isn't plumbed through to the stock UICP location), I have another very cheap SD CAI intake setup that'll run you about $20-$30.

First up, grab this off of ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/88-89-90-91-Civic-CRX-EX-Si-Short-Ram-Air-Intake-Kit-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5d2fc5b472QQitemZ400233444466QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

It's an intake for an 88-91 CRX Si, but it HAS to look like the picture given, there's another weirder style out there that isn't as easy.  Now, what you do from there is grab just any old non silicone couple you can find all over eBay for $5 that come with worm clamps.

From there, just cut anywhere in the red box given.

The coupler that comes with the intake kit, fits over the a 14b/16g/20g outlet just fine, as it is 3", and so is the piping.  From there, take the 90* portion you have left from where you cut the pipe, throw on the other coupler and it puts the filter in the stock SMIC location.  :D  It's true 3" aluminum piping so it's very light, and even has a little spot to hook up your VC vent.  :P

Here's a picture for more reference of what you should look for in the end product.  Not bad at all for $20, huh?   8;)

91 Auto GSX - Fully Ported Evo 3 16G, 660cc injectors, Walbro 255 HP rewired, VRSF FMIC with 2.5" piping, GM 3 Bar map, Jackal, AEM Wideband, 2G pistons on 1G rods w/ARP rod studs, Cyclone IM, custom COP, 3" turboback exhaust, custom shift box, NGR Type S, stock FPR, GT exhaust manifold.
