My current tune...hit me with questions, comments, concerns...
« on: November 24, 2011, 11:45:22 AM »
Alrighty ya'll.  Car pulls like a freight train.  It seriously scares me.  Mods are in sig.  Right now boost is around 25-27psi on 1/4 tank e85, 3/4 93oct blend.

Thoughts?  Opinions for improvements?  Bring em on.

Tune looks great.  What intercooler are you running and where is your temp sensor?  I cant believe the intake temps your getting on those boost levels.

It was brought to my attention that my IDC's are actually double what they are showing on there.  So its not as great as it looks ha ha.  I am working on getting some 1600's as I type this.

I am only running a punishment racing short route kit.  Nothing fancy.

As for IAT, my IAT sensor is in the elbow right before the throttle body.  However, its like 50 deg outside when I am driving this.  When it gets to be TX summer, obviously they are MUCH higher.

Still seem to be pretty good based on numbers out of boost.  I hit IATs of120s at low 20's psi with ambient around 80, and this is with air to water.  I might have to look into mine, maybe have a leak or water flow issue.

Ok, here is log from some driving and ds.3 from today with the FIC 1550's in.

Idle is weird, if I come to a stop, afr is perfect, right where I want it, high 13's to low 14's, but if I sit there a while, AFR's will climb into high teens to low 20's.  Not sure why the heck it's doing that.  Never did it with the 880's.

BTW this is still on 1/4 e85 3/4 93oct blend but I had to completely modify both boost and vac on the VE comp table.

This is becoming increasingly difficult.  I am out driving all morning.  Making changes and what not, and loot at this last drive back to my house.  WTF :shakefist

1st open throttle It doesn't show any knock until 28.8psi at 6000 with AFR 11.37:1

Then the knock count decreases until 6800rpm with AFR 10.78:1

Scroll down to 2nd WOT row 633; 14 counts at 8.7psi at 4688rpm with afr 12:25:1 (could stand to be richer, I know), but then knock count flies up to the 20's with boost at 30psi 6000 to 7200rpm with afrs in the high 10's.  WTF is going on? :shakefist

It does it again at rows 1131, then look at line 1151, 37 counts of knock at 5600rpm with afr 10.25:1 and 7 deg of timing!

Does anybody have any ideas whats going on?    are my injector deadtimes wrong or something?

When I was on the 880's at 28psi with my IDC's at 110%  had no issues, now that I have FIC 1550's, tuning this thing has been a nightmare.

DT's could be off.

IMHO rich knock being sub 11, on the same blend right ?

Does E85 evaporate at a different rate ?

I adjusted my DT's, and just went out and did 5 more pulls and still cant get it where it used to be.  I attached my last log and ds.3

Its a long log to just filter it to the 100% TPS areas.  Should be 2 different spots with 100% TPS.  Here is another thing I don't understand...Why is there so much more knock on the first WOT than there is on the 2nd and there were no changes to the tune between the two.

I just saw it.

Your gunna feel pretty retarded Ryan. Remember when you changed map sensors, from a 3bar to a 4bar. Did you rescale your timing curve appropriately or just left it alone ?

30° @ 4psi is kinda like... woah dog woah.

Here is a table I just made rescaling the stock 1g 3bar table to 4bar.

I suspect Hak is right on the knock thing.  Fuelling isn't the main cause of knock most times, its timing.

As for why your afrs change at idle?  Its because one of one of your temp compensation tables is off, and due to the fact that its after a good drive, I strongly suggest its your IAT table.(coolant will be fully warm by then)

Work with your temp compensation table, by paying attention to your logger just as you pull into the driveway and as you sit.  Your IAT will heat soak as you idle in your driveway because there isn't enough airflow to cool it and the underhood temps are climbing quickly.

There is a table posted on here pertaining to this.  Its a good starting point, you may have to tweak it but it will be a big improvement most likely just the way it is.  You will have to search, sorry I forget who posted it and when, but it was either in a post I left where I complained about this issue or one at about the same time.
