lean from vac to 5psi
« on: November 14, 2011, 04:44:30 PM »
So I have no idea what's going on and what to do. She's running lean. Pegged the wbo2 guauge at over 18:1 everything is good that I can tell. She was tunning perfect the first day she had sd. Its been a couple of days I've tried adjusting it at idle but nothing seems to do anything. I cannot log atm. Im trying to figure out that problem as well. Any times would be awsome

Start with basics check fuel pressure, fuel filter, vacuum/boost leaks ect... Also what kind of wideband are you running? Also it would help to post your mods in your signature so we know what you are working with. ;)

I have a AFPR and inline with stock FPR. Dont ask it was a experiment I tried and it works. Anyway I adjusted it up to 50 PSI and It helped a good bit. Mods are MBC, 2.5 turbo back, Cyclone Intake, Jackal, Snow Performance Meth kit, Walbro 190, LC-1 WB

Try doing a heater recalibration and a free air calibration to your lc1 they are bad about loosing the calibration if the wiring is not perfect

also are you letting the car warm up completely?

when I first started with sd I didnt.. I would start idle tuning almost right away..then when it warmed up it would be way off @ idle.. so now I wait like your suppose to lol.     :facepalm  :rtfm

I havnt done any tuning yet. Ive been driving to see how it reacts to the basic tune and see what areas need work. The adjustments I did where to see if I could correct the lean out in vac. But that had no effect. And I have been tweaking it fully warmed up

Figured it out. It's the ostrich going to bank 1with tune instead of staying on bank 2

When you change banks, it only changes the ram in the ostrich, if you unplug it.. say from your pc, then walk to to your car and plug it in. It is going to default back to bank 0.

Bank switching should be done in the car with a laptop. I may enable a more permanent option, I just don't see the point in wearing out the nand flash for that 1 area... then you'll never be able to change it at a later date.

why not remove one of the fuel pressure regulators?  This is know to work well.

Get it working well like this, eliminate any other sources of problems.  Then when its running well, you can play around with the two regulators thing if you want and if you still see a benefit, great.

But trying to tune can be hard enough without tossing a big monkey wrench in it.
