Ignition on ostritch 2.0 basemap
« on: February 15, 2012, 09:32:08 AM »
Im just curious I have no idea what my ignition should be like on this setup but when I upload the basemap (jackal with ostritch 2.0) Is it a fairly safe ignition curve? So far the only adjustments I've made are the VE and injector stuff.

FP big 16G on 91 octane , stock compression, 15-17 psi

Basically, stock 1g map.

OK that makes sense I was hoping I could blame that for the way it runs but it looks like I have more to do with the VE. Do you think too rich of a mixture could make my car feel laggy? also the turbo is ported and clipped I don't know how much of an effect that should have because I have never driven a car with a normal 16g to compare.

Well don't expect the car to run 80% of how it ran on a maf. You need some seat time, to really dial-in your VE.

Too little or too much fuel, will really put a hamper on things. If you are tuning a smaller turbo, I would aim for at the minimum 11:1 AFR on WOT, if not higher. 10s will really put a wreck on your spool up.

yep too rich really slows spool down.

Leave the stock ignition map alone for now.

Also a cut turbine wheel will slow your spool down.

porting on the other hand, if done well can really help spool up.
