*RESOLVED* Need help logging
« on: April 21, 2011, 06:20:08 PM »
I have the pay version of Jackel and I cant seem to figure out how to log or may be something is wrong. I have dsmlinks logging cable and I no the obo port works (steve tried his comp and logging cable on my car). I can plug my cable in my comp and go to the logger and press poll and click on all the sensors and the only one will show up is the iat sensor and that will go right to 212 and that is it. Could it be the logging cable? I need some help please :deadhorse

What happens if you click DTR on then try to send ! ?

Is there anything in the visual log on the editor after you try to poll ? Try setting up the com port, choose your sensor(s), and hit poll. Then switch back to the editor, click the icon at the bottom right and see if there is any error messages in it.

I did all you said to do and no luck. Ther is no error codes showing up.I have tried it all kinds of ways and some times the rpm or the iat will randomly show up but they are wrong like the rpm will be at zero with the car running and does not change. when the iat sensor pops on it will be at 212 and does not change :(

If you can get back online tomorrow some time mid-day I'll try my best to figure this out.

mine is very similar.

pick some sensors, hit poll, and I can sometimes see some numbers, but they are whack.  Like coolant temps in the mid 300deg range when the car is cold.  173 volts systems voltage etc.

I'm gunna have to hi-jack one of your computers and figure this out. John your not using a Link cable right ? Keyspan ?

Seems really weird TBH, I know a few guys have a link cable working just fine, same with keyspan. Maybe there was a bum driver update or system update, could be firewall.. blah blah blah.

Do you have dsmlinks logging cable?  If you do I might know how you can get it to work :o

no 'link cable, I use an older known working DSM datalogger cable made by Martin Standish.  I then have it null modemed, then the Keyspan adapter to usb on my very new HP laptop.

TMO logger works fine on it all the time, every time, but it does not log load rows, the wideband implementation is rudimentary and some other things are not as good.

MMSD works fine on Autotalons Palm3 and running thru this cable/logger.

And your using the most recent build right ? Maybe its this parse.. I'll update the build tonight with a cast to byte and see if it fixes the issue.
