So I brought my gigantic 18.4' laptop down to the galant and set it in the passenger seat...downloaded jackal updated the drivers/java etc and loaded my key that you (Hak) had sent me but it still acts the exact same on this computer........although what is weird is I went to help/about and it says I am running windows 7 x86....and I am certainly 100% positive I am running 64 bit on the laptop......does the key need to be updated with different computers?

the about said the exact same as my netbook:
Product version: JACKAL 1.05._094
JAVA: 1.6.0_24; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 19.1-b02
System: Windows 7 version 6.1 running on x86

perhaps its because google downloaded a 32-bit version of java?

Is there a safe speed density tune that i can load via tunerpro (or anyway to convert the jackal code).......I ask because I am really beginning to think the jackal codes hasnt been uploaded to my ostrich at all.............so after getting aggravated with my car not turning on thinking I might have fried something in the ecu lol I decided to use tunerpro and load a bone stock map to the car....I did and all the sudden my boost gage works and the car fires right up....it still acts funny with the throttle (just as before) but atleast it runs.....so I am thinking this whole time my car is still on a stock tune perhaps?

the d2xx issues could be related to 7 32bit

Remove the 32bit version of java on your 64bit laptop and try again..

ok so i uninstalled java, installed java 64 bit and ran the program and it pretty much acted the same (below shows me trying to upload twice, download then change memory bank...and repeat...just to see if anything would work)

as you can see it wasnt happy about  not being able to find rxttxSerial so I renamed rxtxSerial64.dll to rxtxSerial.dll and that message went away and it loaded nicely..............but the continued to act the exact same when I try and upload/download.

Okay but the Ostrich menu shows the right firmware version ? and no real startup issues with setting the legacy baud ?

That is sorta good in which the communication problems are now only related to checksum errors from the ostrich..

The ostrich menu is now showing the correct OS and JAVA firmware when I use my laptop (although it also seemed to show the right os with the netbook)....it seems to be directly tied into which JAVA I am running (32/64) I dont recall ever having an issues with the legacy baud setting...even when I manually changed things under the device manager that always seems to give me "success".......the problems (as far as I recall) have always either been a checksum error or something about data array.........I wonder if for some reason my ostrich isnt compatible with your current code? (you did mention my key looked weird).

Ok so I got the new v2 ostrich in .....wow that thing is small compared to the v2!....anyhow plugged it up and started the older jackal to try and load a tune and viola!....tunes will now upload and download perfect with no error :-D.............now if I can only figure out why the car wont actually stay running (starts for a second and shuts off).....once I get my new ostrich key in I am going to look as the data logger on jackal and see what it says......but I just thought i'd give a quick update.....ostrich v2 FTW.

Ok problem is resolved........on the galants there are two wires that are green with yellow stripe....I had the map output hooked up to the wrong one (of course......)................so note to galant users DO NOT use the green wire with yellow stripes that has a small dash of red on it (spaced out)...........thanks for the help everyone, my car now idles nice and smooth :-D
