Windows 7 64bit laptop, Keyspan USB adapter, Martin Standish logger cable.

Cable has worked fine for years, and still works fine on my old laptop using TMO logger.

Keyspan adapter shows blinking green LED.

Windows shows it as comm 5.

9600 baud rate.

8,n,1, none

Logger options setup as comm 5.

no error messages on the install, or in windows control panel, all shows working correctly.

Editor works fine, as usual, but switching to logger I get nothing.  The small boxes on the bottom are greyed out, and nothing happens in the main window.

I tried emulate and nothing happened there either.

Jackal will only show com ports that are available. Maybe something is hi-jacking the port. Palmone softare, TMO being open, TunerPro being open.. etc

Set drop down menu in the logger to Com5, then hit poll and clicked on a few sensors ?

tried it, all sensor boxes(I am assuming those are the rows of boxes on the bottom of the window?) are all greyed out.

I am going to put TMO on the new laptop and try it out that way, to isolate if its a Jackal problem or a combo of the lappie and Keyspan.  If it logs with TMO on the new laptop thru the Keyspan adapter, I know its a problem with Jackal.

When you click the sensor, it ungreys..

Maybe your unfamiliar with how the logger works now ?, you can choose individual sensors...

I know this may sound stupid, but are you clicking on the boxes that you want to log???  By default nothing is selected and therefore wont log.  Let me know.

nahh, I just frigged around with it for an hour at least, probably closer to two.  The bottom buttons stay greyed out no matter what.

I tried to log TMO on the new laptop, but TMO doesn't go to comm5, so I reconfigured the Keyspan in its software to use Comm1.

After that TMO works like a charm.  It even looks better :) The only real problem is that the baro and O2 logging is not scaled correctly on the graphing part of the logger.  They are so close to the bottom and top respectively that its very hard/impossible to read the graph.  In the DRB2 part its great.  I was able to get some tweaking on my cold start and free revving in reference to coolant temps and iat temps.  But reading values in a table is not the same as graphing them over time.

However no matter what I did with the Jackal logger it did nothing but sit there and stare blankly at me.  I tried to hit the lower buttons, I tried hitting log, poll, emulate etc. I tried different comm ports.

Friggin.

I am sure the Jackal logger cable would work fine, but I also know that others have it working on the Keyspan, and the keyspan and cable and laptop obviously work fine with TMO.

I guess I wait more time for the Jackal logger cable.

But just in the off chance that I am missing a simple step, please, walk me thru it.

up to this point, no need for the logger to work as I had no way to log, with out having someone with MMSD and a Palm.

ok, not sure what I did, but I went out there today to give it one last try and I was able to get it to show values on the bottom in each sensors box.

However, I still get nothing in the main box or on the dashboard screen.

Is there not supposed to be a graph?   A live graph showing each of the values you are logging in real time?

or is this only on 1.05+?
