Where Did the "Ok" Button Go?
« on: August 03, 2011, 07:55:22 AM »
So for some reason the "Ok" button has disappeared from File -> Options -> ECU -> Studderbox... The slider is still there, but sometimes even the box with the RPM in it disappears (although it comes back if you move the slider). This is very sad times, because the RPM needs to be higher for mega-fun-awesome launching!

(Jackal running on Acer Aspire One Netbook with Win 7 Enterprise 32-Bit.)

I have tried restarting Jackal and also restarting the Netbook, but still the same. It USED to be there and I haven't changed anything in the Jackal folder since it worked. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Ruebs

Take a screen shot.

Print screen, open up mspaint, control + v, save as png, and upload to like photobucket / imageshack

I had this issue also when I first started messing with the stud box.. the ok button is still there.. just mouse over the bottom left portion of the box where it was before.. and click it.... after about a month for some reason mine started showing up all the time...i think it has something to do with software on ur laptop? (least thats what I assume)..but it is there..just in hiding lol  :o

Glad you're still able to use it.

Have you tried updating java?  Or uninstalling java completely and installing the latest version?

What version of windows are you all using, and what type of graphics card ?

I'm leaning to a video card issue with java, since I double buffer everything in the UI.

...Acer Aspire One Netbook with Win 7 Enterprise 32-Bit...

As for the vid card, its this http://ark.intel.com/products/chipsets/35553.

Side note: Works fine on another computer (Windows 7 64-bit, NVIDIA Quadro FX 480). And, it used to work fine on the one that currently doesn't show the button/other window background color.

I'm leaning to a video card issue with java, since I double buffer everything in the UI.

Yeah once I had a problem where a graphics program I wrote would do wierd things on different machines, turns out in NVidia vs ATI the result of some cosine-involved calculation for shading would give opposite values for the same result (like -1 vs 1 or something, was a while ago).

Thanks,
Rueben

Yep, when I was writing a C# with .net forms there was this nvidia bug with their tabling sytem, that ran like complete and utter ass on 8xxx series, but not on 7xxx series...  :shakefist

Maybe someone needs to report a bug to java with having 2 dialogs, and 1 being top modality.

In any event, you could maybe play with the jackal.properties file and enable / disable opengl / anti-aliasing stuff I default to enabled.
