jackal for android
« on: March 07, 2011, 01:42:54 PM »
Will jackal ever be available for android?  I think it would be really nice to tune from a touchscreen tablet.

That does not sound very assuring, is there not enough demand for it?

I am one man. And I am doing a ton of things.

Learning a new architecture isn't on the todo list just yet. If everything gets to a point where I can have time to learn. I might, its a great idea. Just not feasible for me at this time.

Cause then what about the igay guys, etc etc. It is hard enough just writing in java for all architectures lol.

You girl!  You won't even implement Jackal on your beloved Linux based platform?  lol!  It's time to become Hak² and give us exponentially more output.  I really like this idea though because I'm feelin' the Android OS for my next phone.

There is a Windows95 emulator for android. Some sort of a Virtual Machine. There is a chance that you can get the Jackal to work on it, but can't tell if it can use the usb to communicate with the Ostrich. The serial port will not work for sure so no logging at this point.

That is if oyu like adventure and you have the time you can try it :)

Let him concentrate on cables and Jackal/WW right now.

I really dont get why you would want to try to look at that little screen and tune your car but to each there own.

Hack,  I've always wondered but never asked,  Is Java your primary programming language?  I would think .net would be a better solution, but then again I know you dont like Microsoft.   ;)

I've just started writing apps in vb to interface with PLC's at work.  I've got a long ways to go, but if I can help let me know.  All I can do is try.
