Jackal key process

Anyone that downloads this, it is your duty to report all bugs.

As of now, there is are three very distinct known bugs:
OSX cannot use the rxtx library, to log. I am working with the developers, so I don't have to make a 'special' library, just for us, when infact their community as a whole would benefit as well.

OSX Tiger or less and the 32bit Intel machines, cannot use java6. I will not forget you guys, but I need the app finished in java6, so I can downgrade the app to 1.5 for you.

Linux cannot use the rxtx library on usb serial converters. I'm not certain as to the specifics, I believe it has something to do with the linux usb drivers, but I am looking into the situation.

Well.. had to ditch the wider lines...  :argh  :shakefist cause java was like :willynilly once you piled in a ton of data to graph.

February 11th changelog

Added:
  • Ostrich keying
  • Graphing support for logging.

Fixes:
  • Device thread stops trying to apply legacy support to usb loggers.
  • Boost Cut Table updates with map sensor selection.
  • Visual log closes from X now.
  • Updated map sensor math for every sensor.

Removed:
  • Burning support. (I think if you put the pieces together it is obvious why I'm removing it)

Misc:
  • Jackal is completely incompatible with older RC4 ds2's.
  • You must have a key'd ostrich & it must be plugged in to use the Logger. (again obvious, the ostrich is the device that verifies ownership of jackal)
  • Basemap : default map sensor changed to gm3bar
  • Basemap : default boost cut set at 10psi for a gm3bar

looking to probably release it tomorrow..

Notes so far-

*Consider automatically selecting Sensor when Sensor Value is selected (for graphing).  Currently, select the sensor value, adds line to graph, but sensor still needs to be selected.

*During emulation, O2 value becomes truncated.  I'm not sure what other values are doing this as well.

I have a couple of questions.

the first being, you state that the older .ds2 is completey incompatible.  Now that said, I have many many revisions to get the car to where it is.  Car starts, runs well, idles well, is smooth to drive and makes good power, along with good mileage. And it passes my locak smog laws.

As well, I have a 2 hrs paid dyno session as part of  my new base map.  Is there a way to put all this data in the new version without having to manually input EVERY cell value?

And secondly, wrt the keying of the Ostrich, once its keyed, can it still be used for other things that an Ostrich can be used for?  To be clear, I don't actually forsee myself using it for anything else, but shoud things change in the future, or should I have to sell it at some time, is it now only useful for Jackal?

The files are incompatible, not the tune left on the ostrich. You can use the older RC4, to upload your older ds2s, then download and save them as new ds2's for the 1.0.5 release.

Once the ostrich is keyed, it is keyed to jackal. You can use jackal on any computer anywhere, but if you don't have the ostrich that was keyed the application will be useless.

So for those of you that tune with multiple computers it isn't a big deal, just keep the key on you, and ostrich (if you need to upload to the device) otherwise your still free to save your ds2, and manipulate it on any non-keyed jackal program. I hope that makes sense.  :shifty

Nothing changes on the ostrich, it is still the great little device it is. For those pirates out there  :shakefist, at least I get paid once.

I'm hoping to have the release today, it wasn't my intention to leave the link up, but I'm lazy.

Downloads will be posted in this thread, because basically the program is useless without a key'd ostrich.

I have found a way to save memory, save long end processing for short constant processing on the graph.

Gunna take awhile to implement, pretty close I'd like to think, maybe in the next 2 hours.  :spaz
