Who has a Built block
« on: January 31, 2011, 03:03:53 PM »
Just another thread of who has one what done to their block. My block is set up with 1g rods mated on evo 9 pistons bored .020 over with a stock crank and all acl bearings. So far The motor has around 10 or so miles on it and compression is 180 across the bored.

So what is everyone elses block set up?

just 2g pistons on 1g rods, new rod bearings, ARP rod studs, ARP head studs, rear balance shaft with the far end weight cut off and the rest turned down, no balance shaft belt.

Seems to be working well so far.  I put it togeather 2 years ago now I think?

Wouldn't really consider mine built, but here goes.

I've got 2G pistons on 1G rods with ARP rod studs, Clevite bearings, freshly cross-hatched cylinders, new head bolts, freshly machined/rebuilt 1G head.  Here soon if I can ever actually convince myself to get rid of my Cyclone, I'll throw on my 2G head with some good headstuds, and some Delta/HKS 272 cams.
91 Auto GSX - Fully Ported Evo 3 16G, 660cc injectors, Walbro 255 HP rewired, VRSF FMIC with 2.5" piping, GM 3 Bar map, Jackal, AEM Wideband, 2G pistons on 1G rods w/ARP rod studs, Cyclone IM, custom COP, 3" turboback exhaust, custom shift box, NGR Type S, stock FPR, GT exhaust manifold.

Did you have to shim the lifters with those cams and if so, how many shims did you use and what kinds?

Yep, you gotta shim the HLA's with the Delta regrinds.  They are just little washers and Delta provides them with the cams.  8)
