setting timing and idle..(mainly for Hak)
« on: November 11, 2011, 09:08:49 PM »
I was told that with jackal and werewolf you dont need to ground out the plug in the engine bay when setting the idle and timing..is this correct?.. cause when I have it idleing at 1200 and ground it out it dies.... then if I set it to 900 while grounded its at about 2300 ungrounded..

thanks

Steve

Incorrect.

I haven't written support for such a feature but from preliminary tests, including another.. (not having to ground pin 10 to pin 12 on the ALDL... to enable logging).

I had the same problem. I unhooked my ISC and then set my biss from that point. Then I could set my timing. Turned out i had such a boost leak in my TB that forced my ISC to close all the time. so when i grounded, my ISC would be neutral and alow too much air in. hense 2300rpms.

My buddy came over with his timing gun, and was wierded out by the fact that without the ground, the timing was steady. unlike his that jumped around untill he grounded it. I am guessing that since im in open loop all the time, my timing dosent need to be grounded.
