clutch pedal pops
« on: January 03, 2012, 09:56:15 PM »
so 2 weeks ago my clutch pedal stuck to the floor. wasnt good at all my tob went into my pp. apparently the kid i bought the car from didnt torque the bolts down only 2 left holding the pp on. since then i put a new clutch kit in and a different flywheel. new oem master cylinder. but now heres the issue my clutch pedal has this weird spring on it and when i push the pedal down there is 3 inches of play then everything moves. the spring bounces to the side pops and the pedal sticks to the floor. i looked at my fwd talon and it down have this same clutch assembly. i also checked out 6 other dsm's in the junkyard today and none of them have this spring style assembly either. is this stock on the awd but not on the fwd? any help would be great

yeah awd and fwd use diff peddles.. have you tried to adjust the screw from the master to the peddle to take up some of that slack?

yeah i did that lastnight. i also posted this on dsm tuners also seeing if anyone else could figure it out. ive tried just about everything. i think maybe the assembly is junk but not sure. but then again i havent dropped the tranny back down yet to see if my clutch fork is bent or not.

There is a 14mm nut above the clutch master inside the car. It is connected to the arm that pushes the master rod, in there will be a hole just big enough to get a socket in there. Im beting that nut is lose :wacko
Stock 6 bolt, gerrat GT35R with PTE bolt on houseing, 2g manifold, apex n1 full exhaust, fic 1450's, wally 255, punishment fmic,
went 12.4 with 16g at 21 psi

Its tight I'm sure on that. I like to over tighten things. I'm going to pull my assembly out tonight. I'm kinda fat to work under there to really see what's going on
