ok, a good friend of mine gave me a couple of defi boost gauges (one's a huge 3" bar style, me no likey), and I want to hook one up, but like hell I'm paying $150-$200 for the d-link system for one gauge. I need a boost gauge because my autometer is junk, and I hate having to run the line to it. It's in a messed up position, and the line is beginning to kink and break, and looks like ass period. The defi gauge is so much nice. I know the d-link system controls the warning, playback, and gauge colors, but I don't need all that. Just a boost gauge. So has anyone ever found a way to hook them up sans d-link? I used some of the extra wire (from the big gauge) and cut off an end to experiment a little. What I found was there are three ports on the back of the gauge. One where the sensor hooks up, and two four prong locking ports. Both take the same type of connector, and have the same color wires (orange, yellow, white, black) The black is for sure neg, and the white is for illum. The orange and yellow...no clue. The orange I think is the warning light (it flashes when I hooked it up to the battery0, and the yellow kinda makes the needle move. I tried starting the car, and hooking up the sensor, and playing around with the wires(hooking each one up to the batt) but got nothing. didn't switch to the other port though, but idk. I may dis-assemble the big gauge, and check it out. But I'd rather sell it, so idk. If anyone has an idea of how these gauges work though, lemme know. And
